The Hub Gives Zero Votes of Confidence to Punkinhead Palin

Forget Resident Evil. The idea that THIS could end up as president given the right set of circumstances is truly horrible.

Facts are, Sarah Palin is an inept boob completely incapable of taking over leadership of this or any country. I feel like I'd be more able to run the country, and I am completely inexperienced. Hell, my insane, destructive dachshund which eats untreated wood would probably end up doing less damage than this moron if it were left in charge of things.

As far as Obama having little foreign policy experience, that's true, but at least he has two or more working brain cells that he can rub together, and he would have an adept and reasonably intelligent vice president in case the unthinkable were to happen.

It isn't in any way about Punkinhead Palin being a female. I voted for Mondale and Ferraro. It's about the fact that she's a complete chowderhead! The idea that she could end up in this country's position of ultimate power is terrifying. I would be running to Canada, begging them for political asylum, if that were to happen.

Mia the Wood Eating Dachshund: A Smarter Choice In Political Leadership

(disclaimer: this is not really Mia, it's a stand-in that looks a lot like her. Mia was busy eating wood, and it's almost impossible to get her to sit still for pictures.)

Shocking But True Department: Republican Party Offends Senior Citizens!

You just can't make things like this up! One of our residents, Mr. Demmy Kratt (ok, I did make his name up to avoid problems with HIPAA, since so many people read this blog) received an autographed picture of Duffer McCain and Punkinhead Palin in the mail. The message printed just below the picture was "Mr. Kratt: Thank you for your continued support of our party."
Mr. Kratt was understandably aghast, and yet terribly amused. A perfectly clear-headed senior citizen, he knows where his money goes, and he knows that he has never voluntarily contributed any money to the Republican party, let alone this particular cataclysmic duo. Thus he was scratching his rather level old head in bewilderment as to where they could have gotten the idea that he had taken part in supporting their madness. So he did the only thing he could do: got out a red pen and wrote in big beautiful (though somewhat shaky from arthritis acquired during his many years spent on the planet) block letters:
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING!!!!!
He then took his red pen and put red X's over the faces of the offending parties.
Although simple, Demmy's retort says it all.
Please keep the venerable Demmy Kratt in your hearts today. After all, he did suffer a terrible shock at the hands of the Republican party.

The Crabby Curmudgeon's Beef Du Jour

High heeled shoes for infants.

This is too damn stupid for words.

The Crabby Curmudgeon had this to say on the MSN forum:

Utterly ridiculous. It would be one thing for a Halloween costume, but for everyday dress? A tad creepy at the least, and more than a little idiotic. It's going one step beyond making little girls grow up too fast. Now we are supposed to make them into miniature adults as infants? What the h_ is the matter with this society anyway?
Besides, if you have enough money to waste it on something this frivolous and idiotic, take that money and donate it to an organization that helps children in need. It would be nice if people thought this way for a change.

On a scale of one to ten, the vomit factor on this one is a 10.

Capital Punishment

And now for something completely controversial--my thoughts on the death penalty.
See why I like taking surveys, at least this kind? They makes ya think!

It's not so much that I think that "all lives are precious," although the spark of the divine is in even the most vile of people. I'd be perfectly fine with offing the BTK killer or individuals like him who inflict horrific pain and suffering on others. The problem comes in when innocent people are sometimes wrongfully accused. There have been cases where a person has been put to death where to me there was more than a shadow of a doubt as to his/her guilt. This is the reason that I cannot support the death penalty in good conscience.

Thoughts on the poverty of many and the marginalization of countless others

This was another answer to a survey I took.

Poverty is due to a variety of factors. Not everyone who is jobless is "lazy," in fact, most are not. And besides people below the poverty level, there are countless others (myself included) who are marginalized. These are people who work full time, live in lower income areas, but yet do not make enough money to ever break even. We don't make little enough to qualify for the bit of help we need such as food assistance because they consider what you make before taxes are taken out, not after, and as a single person, I have significant taxes taken out. But I have expenses such as food for myself, and for my son's education. And I have a family member living with me who is unemployed and would be homeless otherwise. My son is in his first year of college and deserves an education. It is impossible for me to work two full time jobs due to physical and mental issues, and no-one should have to endure such stress anyway.

Economic "Stimulus"

I know, the economic stimulus program has come and gone, along with the money. But I was reminded of it because I just took a survey regarding what I did with my economic stimulus check (mostly paid bills and I'm still in the hole.) And here's what I told 'em regarding my opinion on the economic stimulus program.

The economic stimulus check was a buy-off to try and stop people from grumbling about how much our current regime sucks and to get another republican in office. While I hated what it stood for I guess I sold out because I was hardly too proud and am too broke to refuse the money.

That's just my two cents worth, folks. You don't have to agree, but if you disagree, please do it politely. The Slugster pours salt on the heads of the rude.

Dates that don't rate

The question posed was: What was your most memorable date, good or bad? And here is my answer, which is basically a laundry list of things NOT to do if you ever want to get a second date with a person.
The question is what is my most memorable date good or bad. I'm not the sort to reveal the personal stuff, so anything good is kept to myself. And I'm not rude enough to reveal the identities of the bad ones, but there have been several. Let's just say that soap, toothpaste, deodorant and Gas-X are good things, and don't claim that you're endowed like a porn star when you're endowed like Willy Needle-Willy. Just to set the record straight, I was not "in a clinch" with Willy, he just claimed what a great endowment he had and proceeded to show me. It was all I could do to keep from bursting out laughing and needless to say, I hope, Willy did not ever get "in a clinch" with me.
I'm glad that the bad old days of going on dates are over. All in all, dating sucks.

Serious Texas BBQ

Actually, it isn't in Texas at all, although the owners of Serious Texas BBQ are originally from there. It is in Durango, Colorado and if you are passing through and have carniverous tendencies, stop there for good food cheap! But here's the great thing--you can have them ship to you anywhere in the U.S. and I believe to military posts. You can get beef brisket or pork loin for $47 or a three-pack of their great salsas and barbecue sauce for just $15. I was sold on the cherry salsa!
I do not get any kind of commission for this. I just believe in supporting small businesses. These people are friendly and provide a great product so I wanted to give them a plug!
